Club economy

Most managers in Football Manager Pro don’t fail on tactics. They fail on the books. Wages go out on every matchday, and a strong squad whose wage bill tops sponsorship and stadium income goes bust.

Stadium income depends on capacity and the ticket prices you set.

Starting budget

A new manager starts with about 4,500,000 in the first division, 3,000,000 in the second and 1,500,000 in the third. At −500,000 you get a warning. At −3,000,000 you’re sacked for poor financial planning and the club becomes free.

What goes out, what comes in

On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday the game deducts player wages and any loan instalments. Income comes from sponsors, home stadium receipts, friendlies, and cup or international prizes. The finance screen shows the balance, the week’s bookings, a forecast for the coming week, and the season total. Read the forecast before every transfer and contract.

Bank

Loans run from 10,000 to 2,000,000. You can hold three at once. The instalment, principal plus interest, is taken every matchday. Repay early when you can. A loan won’t fix wages that are higher than your income.

Sports betting

The prediction game needs no stake. You forecast selected matches and the prize is paid to the club. The season winner, across the bettable matchdays, receives 500,000. Nice bonus, but it’s no replacement for sponsors or a stadium.

The in-game prediction game: no stake, and the prizes go to the club account.

Build sponsorship and the ground before you buy expensive players. Schedule friendlies on free matchdays. Keep a squad that can replace a player whose wage has outgrown the club.
